Newcastle Wedding Photographer – Tiah & Darren

“Thank you so much Bryce for being a part of our special day!
We loved how easy going you were, and how well you captured so many moments!”

Wedding Photography Newcastle Club

As a Newcastle wedding photographer, I have had the opportunity to photograph many amazing venues throughout the area. Newcastle Club definitely has to be one of the best in the Newcastle CBD. When I first hung out with Tiah & Darren for their engagement shoot in Newcastle, I knew that their wedding was going to be a lot of fun!

They’re such a fun-loving couple and were so open to exploring new locations for both their engagement shoot & wedding day portrait session with their bridal party. It was an absolute honor to be able to photograph their Newcastle Club wedding. The Newcastle Club is a great venue, full of beautiful dark timber, an amazing chandelier which hangs above the main staircase and many perfectly styled rooms. The ceremony was moved inside last minute due to the rain, this by no means put a dampener on the event. White chairs in rows either side of the room created the isle for Tiah to walk down; where an arch way made from 2 vintage ladders, some greenery & draped white cloth would be the main focus point of the ceremony. The spot where Darren would marry his best friend Tiah.

After the ceremony we walked through the streets of Newcastle, checking out a few cool spots along the way for photos. The glassy rain covered footpaths created a nice texture for the images.
It was such an amazing day and I couldn’t be more excited to share their images with you all on this BLOG.

Thank you again so much Tiah & Darren for having me as part of your wedding day!
I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!

How Did You Guys Meet?
Darren and I were set up for a blind date to attend a ball together, I was impressed how handsome, kind and gracious Darren was. But we spent a lot of the night mostly catching up with friends, I thought Darren was a little quiet and he thought I was a little loud. The next time we saw each at Katherine race day (Darren was looking handsome as ever) we spent all day together chatting and getting to know each other and getting rowdy. Soon after we were assigned to the same work conference and spent everyday On the conference together, I found Darren to be adventurous, hilarious and so kind hearted. It has been all adventures and good times since then, the rest is history!

How Did He Propose?
We went snorkelling in a small island off Noumea, it was amazing we saw turtles, sharks, sea snakes and heaps of beautiful fish. After we finished snorkelling we went for a walk around the small island to take pictures of the lighthouse (I love lighthouses!). I was looking at the ocean when Darren said my name and I turned to see him holding the tiny box, he got down on his knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. I said yes a million times!!

Tell Us About The Wedding Dress
I brought my wedding dress randomly on my own when I drove past a bridal store closing down! I had plenty of ideas of what I was after but I hadn’t found anything on my pilgrimages with my bridesmaids and mother. When I tired on my dress I knew it wasn’t “the one” but I knew I could alter it to become the one and I couldn’t resist the bargain!! After the alterations and additions of lace, I loved her, i couldn’t have been happier with my tea length champagne dress!

Tell Us About Your Newcastle Wedding Ceremony
Our ceremony was to be held outside but the weather changed last minute, leaving the grooms party to scramble our home made arch and everything inside. It didn’t matter our wet weather plan was perfect and the ceremony was still perfect. My uncle married us, so our ceremony was very personal and light hearted, just as we wanted. I was so nervous waking down the isle, (what if I’m not good enough, what if I don’t look amazing for him) but I never had a doubt about marrying Darren.

What Was The Most memorable Part of The Day
Our first dance. The day was rushing by so fast and our first dance was an opportunity to just stop and be with each other it was perfect!
