“Bryce was fantastic! We love the beautiful photos he took and have had many comments on what a great job he did. Bryce was quick to respond, very professional but also really easy going which definitely helped calm any nerves we had on the day. He captured the atmosphere perfectly and has a great eye for taking interesting, candid shots that are natural and too “staged”. We highly recommend Bryce!”

Camilla and Michael’s Port Macquarie wedding was so different to many weddings I’d shot before! The ceremony & reception were held at the home in which Groom Michael and his family grew up in, only meters from the beach. So it was definitely important to capture the location and it’s uniqueness on Camilla & Michael’s wedding day. It was also great to venture out from the Newcastle & Hunter Valley area for a destination wedding somewhere that I hadn’t shot a wedding before.
The day started with me arriving to the Bride’s prep location at Osprey House, Timbarra Estate. Nestled in amongst the bushland on the coast of Dunbogan. From there we made our way to Michael’s parents home where the ceremony would take place on the deck overlooking the gorgeous coastline. An iconic place for Michael & his family, a place that he woke up to every day and he spent a fair chunk of his life. Following the ceremony and after all the guests had congratulated the newlyweds, we piled in the cars and made our way down to Camden Head.
Arriving at Camden Head Pilot Station carpark we explored the coastline, break wall and surrounds creating images of the couple that were somewhat candid, natural and just captured them as they are. With Camilla & Michael not being huge on the idea of posing this was definitely the perfect approach to their wedding day portrait session.
The reception was held back at the home. Music was provided by Newcastle based rock legend Ryan Patrick Daley.
At sunset, to cap off the day we ventured down through the back garden of Michael’s parents home and on to the beach to capture a few last images. Just the two of them, enjoying a moment together. Walking along the beach, the warm golden tones of the sunset wrapping around them and creating the perfect ending to their special day.
Thank you heaps so much Camilla & Michael for being so open to my creative vision for your day and just embracing the windy conditions for your photos even when veil was blowing everywhere!!
I’m so happy to finally share these images online with you all!
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT THE MOST MEMORABLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE! HOW DID YOU MEET?
We actually met at a pub when we were teenagers and dated for about a year, but parted ways to go on travel adventures and live in different countries. We randomly bumped into each other at an airport 10 years later and picked up where we left off!
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?’
Michael surprised me with a trip to Hamilton Island where he proposed on beautiful White Haven beach. He lived there before so knew all the best places to go, it was the best holiday.
TELL US ABOUT THE WEDDING DRESS?
The dress was quite last minute, I was making my own dress but was running out of time so I tried on a dress from Lover and felt it was perfect (lucky because it was a week before the wedding!).
I hand embellished my veil, It took a while but loved doing it.
TELL US ABOUT THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION?
Our Ceremony and reception was at the house Michael grew up in right on the beach in the small town of Dunbogan. I also remember going there when we dated as teenagers. So it had some great memories for us.
WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?
Before the ceremony Michael sent over a gift which was a total surprise. It was a vintage locket he secretly bought from the same antique jeweller my engagement ring was from. There was a little photo inside of the day we got engaged. It was so thoughtful. Karaoke at the end of the night was also pretty memorable!
WHAT WAS YOUR COLOUR THEME AND COLOUR PALETTE IF APPLICABLE?
Lots of green foliage and vintage pieces. I love going to markets and garage sales but my parents have amazing collections so I was able to raid their house for treasures!
